To the Bible Quizzing Family,
Other than the Little League running quite a bit late, last Saturday was another good day of quizzing. I'm thankful for all of you who were able to be there and participate in it.
Worship and Devotions: A special thanks to the Groothuis family for leading us in worship, and to Steve Fass for his challenging devotional. It was a timely reminder of the need to hide God's Word in our hearts because it is not unreasonable to expect that there'll come a time when it won't be publicly available. We have openings for both worship and devotions for our February and March quizzes. Please contact me to volunteer!
Olympic Memory Challenge: Congratulations to the many quizzers who participated this past month. There were 20% of the A/B League quizzers, and 85% of the Little League quizzers who earned certificates, and 48% of the certificates were for Gold. Keep up the great work!
Crown College Tournament: For any of you A/B League quizzers who wish you could have signed up for the tournament, there may still be an opportunity. Please contact me if you are interested.
Help Needed: We need volunteers each month to help with setup and tear down. All months are open for the rest of the year. Please contact me to sign up. Thanks
Lost and Found: We're accumulating a pile of sweatshirts and other things, but no one is claiming them. We've left them in the church's Lost and Found box, in case they're not really "ours". So if you're missing something, check in the church when you come for the January quiz.
Finances: We've got about $733 in our general fund that is used for normal operating expenses. We're okay at the moment, but will need donations throughout the year to make ends meet. Please consider whether this would be a good time to make a donation. Thanks much!
Next Month: Our next quiz meet is coming up on January 10, at 1:00pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The A/B League will quiz over Luke chapters 15-17 and the Little League will quiz over chapter 15. Points earned in this meet will be multiplied by 160% when accumulated for the year
At this point we're already half-way through the quizzing season and about half-way through the material. So keep up the good work! It is always tough to study over the Christmas holidays, and the January quiz sneaks up on us before we're aware of it, so do your best to stay on top of it.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or suggestions. Have a blessed Christmas season, and I'll see you at the January quiz!
