Friends of Quizzing- Yessss! If you're like me, nothing warms my heart more than an afternoon together with friends that love Jesus, Scripture, kids and SMORES! We couldn't have asked for a nicer time together both indoors and outdoors. Thank you all for tossing in a bit of encouragement amidst the glitches here and there. If the pattern holds, next month will run much smoother. There were a few teams missing in October due to scheduling conflicts, but I anticipate a full roster for November. If you are one of those missing teams AND haven't registered yet, head to the web site and click the "Online Registration" button and you'll be all set for next month. If your quizzer didn't submit an Olympic Memory Challenge form, but knows the material, turn in October AND November forms in November so the work your quizzer completes will be applied to the year-end achievement resulting in special rewards and recognition at the March tournament. It is worth mentioning that the quality of the new quizzers this month was fantastic! There is so much to learn-- encourage them to stick with it. They are all on a historical course, preparing themselves to become powerful servants of our Savior. All the confident and mature A/B league stars you saw Saturday started out as three foot high 3rd graders barely able to jump from a quiz pad. The campfire fellowship was especially peaceful and relaxing-- my jacket still smells like smoke 8--). Thank you to all who made the evening special by sharing snacks and family time together. Next month's fellowship activity will be "Pizza Somewhere". Since CiCi's has closed, we'll have to gather somewhere new. I'll stop by a few pizza joints this Saturday to see how busy they are at 4:30 to 5pm so we can find a place where we can all fit comfortably. Suggestions so far include "Broadway Pizza" (the choo-choo train place), "BB's Pizza" (by Shopko North), "Mr Pizza- West", "God Fathers" or "Valentinos". Sadly, I don't believe any of these places run a buffet. If you have a thought, send it my way. Back to the glitches for a moment... we're always open to suggestions for improvement. Our process has morphed several times over the years as a result of valuable feedback from you. Don't hesitate to call or send an email with your idea!! See you November 12th! GBY!
