Friends of Bible Quizzing- The October Tournament is now part of the record books! Thanks to our Lord Jesus and to everyone who came out to compete, participate, cheer, worship and officiate. I'm always refreshed by the level of enthusiasm and love that is present at each and every Bible Quizzing event-- you are all a terrific team. I praise God for you all. Quick items to note about the October quiz: Several officials, coaches and quizzers starred in their *first* major motion quizzing tournament in October and you all did an excellent job. Oscar performances by all! Well Done! Setup and Cleanup were amazing with so many helpers eager to make rooms perfect. Thanks to the Iowans who gave 110%. Big hats-off to Abby and her band whose talent and gifts led us to worship. I apologize for a couple of hitches we stumbled over, but I don't think any were able to stop the show-- I was confused about the scoring (android vs paper), but that appeared to get resolved quickly. Despite this major technology transition, the feedback I received was positive. John from the Tally Room thought the process went very well. We all got the data we needed when we needed it and with great quality. Next month should be even better. There was some quiz scheduling that may need adjustment in coming months- The A/B league just flew through their quizzes, while the Little League schedule was right-on considering the first-month explanations, general teaching and review that takes place on the first tournament of the year. We have padding built into the schedule for the first month that won't be as necessary in coming months. With only one team signed up for the Novice League, Byran was able to convert us over to an Individual-Round-like league with a simple on-the-spot adjustment. If you have novice leaguers that want to quiz in coming months, don't hesitate to sign up and join the league-- everyone had a great time. We sort-of had a coaches meeting... in my untested eagerness I actually began the meeting before the little league had finished their last quiz (very sorry about that). If you have questions or comments, suggestions or feedback of any sort, don't hesitate to send them in. This is your quiz program. Those of you in A/B league who came to the *too early* meeting, thanks for your input. For next month: I'll send out an email about 10 days before the quiz to coaches asking if their team will be there. Knowing how many teams we will have will help us line up officials. It's not too late to add teams or make team adjustments-- the sooner we know about changes the better. There's still some spots open for servants to help setup, clean-up, worship and devote for us-- pick a '?' in the "Volunteers" column on the web site and send me or Judy Boyum a note. Thanks to all of you who have already put your name down. The Boyums found a verse missing from the A/B League OMC sheet for November. I missed a verse in Bronze for chapter 8... if you turn in an unfixed OMC sheet next month, you'll still get full credit towards a Bronze certificate. November 3rd will come quickly, but with with an abbreviated verse volume, the Tournament will be a treat! See you then! GBY!
